Our Story

Omary was born and raised in Tanzania. When he was 19 years old he made the decision to become a mountain guide and relocated from his small village to Arusha City to attend guide school. Omary began climbing the mountain at the age of 21 as a porter. During this time he gained experience in climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. At the age of 25, Omary began climbing as a Guide completing 20 climbs per year for the last 5 years

Laura was born and raised in Australia. At the age of 20, she began perusing a career in finance and relocated to Melbourne from rural Victoria. Throughout her 20's she discovered a passion for travel. In 2019, Laura made the decision to travel to Tanzania and climb Mount Kilimanjaro with a group where she met Omary. 

Connecting on their shared love of travel and Tanzania, Laura and Omary created Omura, a tour and safari company. Omura is committed to providing our clients with an unforgettable experience whether it is your first time visiting Tanzania or you are a returning traveler. Here at Omura, we believe in honesty, creativity, reliability, and ambition as our core values and we continuously strive towards demonstrating these every day.
